Live transcription
Read what is being said, as it is said, in the language it is spoken. Hontoni detects the language automatically and labels each speaker. Choose As spoken and every language stays exactly as it was said.
Live translation
Read live speech as written translation in the language you choose, between any of sixty languages. Speech already in that language stays as it was said.
Audio / video
Bring a recording in from Files, choose what to read it in and where to start, and turn its audio into a transcript or a translation you can search, copy and share. Each excerpt can be about 14 minutes long.

How it works
There is very little to learn.
Choose what to read in
Pick a language, and speech in other languages is translated into it while speech already in that language stays as it was said. Or pick As spoken to keep every language exactly as it was said. Hontoni keeps your choice for next time.
Tap Listen
One button starts the microphone. The first time, Hontoni explains that audio is sent to Soniox for processing and asks for microphone access.
Read as it happens
Captions arrive as people speak, with a label for each speaker. Scroll back whenever you like; Latest brings you back to the newest words.

Every transcript is saved on your iPhone. Search it, copy it or share it.

We are building spoken translation through earphones, so you can keep your eyes on a speaker and hear your language while your iPhone stays locked. It is not available yet, and this page will say so until it is.
